James Hunt, Fuji, 1976

Jeremy Houghton trained as an artist at the Slade School of Art and the University of Provence. His formative years as an artist were spent in South Africa as Head of Fine Art at The International School of Cape Town. He returned to England and back to his roots to the village of Broadway in the Cotswolds where he now creates dynamic and diverse paintings using water colors and mixed media. His work brings to life events and places that beckon you to look further into the “story” that he is portraying.

As Jeremy is the official artist for the 40th anniversary celebrations of James Hunt’s 1976 World Championship, the story for 2016 hinges on a collection of paintings depicting each of the races Hunt won that year. Those paintings are proudly displayed at the Brush With Speed Royal Automobile Club Art Exhibition—Part of London Motor Week 2016—as a tribute to Hunt. The work of some 15 artists including Jeremy, will be on display at Royal Opera Arcade Gallery at 5b Pall Mall, just a stone’s throw from the RAC’s Pall Mall premises. The Art of Motoring Exhibition takes place between Monday October 31 through Saturday November 5, 2016 and admission is free.
