Gail Hill shares a surname synonymous with some of motor racing’s greatest and most successful drivers, Phil, Graham and Damon—all F1 World Champions. However, it was only in later life that motor racing became a focal point of her leisure time. Now she is a multi-championship winner and has a penchant for mighty Jaguars. Earlier this year she was elected Chair of the British Women Racing Driver’s Club. Recently VR’s European Editor, Mike Jiggle, talked to Gail about her love of motor racing, the BWRDC and the growing role of women in all forms and aspects of motorsport.
You came to competitive motor racing, quite by accident and quite late in life too, didn’t you?
