Positioned in the upper midsize class, the shape of the 1937 Wanderer W 52 shared the new body lines of the predecessor model W 51, first presented in 1936, which were greatly influenced by American design elements. The model had a newly developed engine with side-controlled valves and was available in both saloon and convertible versions with a body built by Horch.
