The Elegance at Hershey 2016 was held June 10-12 at the historic Hotel Hershey in Pennsylvania. The Elegance at Hershey comprised three days of charity, vintage and antique car events, including a revival of the Hershey Hill Climb and the Elegance Concours d’Elegance with more than 70 automobiles displayed throughout the formal gardens of the Hotel Hershey.

Celebration of Speed was this year’s theme as the cars looked like works of art nestled on the grounds of the Hotel Hershey. The Best of Show Governor’s Cup at the 2016 Elegance at Hershey was awarded to the 1934 Mercedes-Benz 500K Roadster owned by the Miyabi Collection of Honolulu, Hawaii. Other notable winners included Myron Schuster’s 1937 Delahaye 135M Competition Roadster by A. Guillore taking home the Founder’s Award, the People’s Choice went to the 1948 Tucker 48 owned by the Richard Driehaus Collection and Mark Hyman’s 1938 Peugeot 402 Darl’mat Roadster by Pourtout was judged Best European Open Car.

This year’s event also included the Grand Ascent, a two-day revival of the famed Hershey Hill Climb that featured more than 40 vintage race cars. The Grand Ascent is a VSCCA-sanctioned hill climb exhibition in the European tradition, where drivers piloted race cars up the back road to the Hotel Hershey.

The Elegance has donated more than $800,000 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the AACA Museum and the AACA Library and Research Center. Thanks to the success of this year’s event and the generosity of sponsors and guests, organizers said they will once again make a substantial donation to their charities.

Similar to 2013, 2014 and 2015, Sports Car Digest also documented The Elegance at Hershey 2016, with photographer Michael DiPleco offering the following pictures that capture the Concours d’Elegance portion of the event. We split up Michael’s images into two galleries. The first gallery starting below features our favorite images, while the second gallery and award winners can be found on the last page of the article and gives a comprehensive view of all the photographs.
