No doubt by now you’ve heard of the passing of Paul Newman. Newman’s impact on the worlds of acting and philanthropy were nothing short of massive. This was underscored by the fact that the Los Angeles Times ran an obituary/memorial that was perhaps the longest single article I’ve ever seen in a newspaper. In all reality, it likely didn’t do him justice.
While the world has remembered him for his acting and philanthropy, most memorials have given his racing but a passing mention—if at all. That’s a shame as I learned, firsthand, that he was as passionate about his racing, as any other pursuit in his life. In fact, according to him, perhaps even more so.
