• RM Sotheby’s, in collaboration with the Porsche Experience Center Atlanta, has announced The Porsche 70th Anniversary Sale, an exclusive, single-marque auction to be held at the home of Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) in Atlanta. Set for the weekend of October 27, the sale will take place shortly after the official U.S. 70th anniversary celebrations taking place as part of Porsche Rennsport Reunion VI at Laguna Seca Raceway, and will feature approximately 70 of the world’s most important and most sought-after collectible Porsche models, spanning the marque’s illustrious history as a sports car manufacturer.
• Leake Auction Company’s recent Oklahoma City auction marked $6.8 million in sales with 77 percent of the nearly 400 vehicles on offer being sold. Held at the Bennett Event Center on February 23 and 24, the two-day auction’s top seller, was a 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, part of the Rolland Collection from California, that sold for $308,000 without reserve.
• Mullin Museum founder Peter Mullin’s affection for French culture is no secret to anyone in this industry, and it will once again be on display at his Oxnard, California, facility beginning April 14. Entitled “L’époque des Carrossiers: The Art and Times of the French Coachbuilders,” this new display will showcase the finest and most renowned sculpture, artifacts and vehicles from the Museum’s permanent collection, each representing the skill and unparalleled craftsmanship of the most esteemed French master coachbuilders.
