Here is a problem for future historians and statisticians: Kimi Raikkonen has won Grands Prix for a team called Lotus. Are these to be added to the 79 wins achieved by Real Team Lotus? Some have taken to calling the outfit as the “Enstone Team,” Enstone being the village in Oxfordshire where the factory is located. Current Lotus used to be Renault and before that was Benetton which, in turn, began as Toleman.
What about all the starts and finishes recorded by the other “Lotus,” now known as Caterham? There was a time when we had two teams called Lotus and neither really was, except on paper.
