Vintage Racecar has always been very fortunate to work with some of the most talented motor sport photographers from around the world. Month in and month out, these dedicated and creative souls trudge the tracks of the world—braving everything from scorching heat to freezing, cold rain—to bring us the best historic racing action.
Each spring, we like to pay tribute to our “shooters” by creating a special “Best of” photo gallery highlighting their most inspired work from the previous year. This year, we decided to add a new twist by tasking the editorial staff to pick the “Best of the Best” from all submitted photos in 2008. With so many fantastic submissions, this was truly difficult, but after much arguing and debate, and based on the totally subjective criteria of artistic composition and technical quality, our staff has chosen Dennis Gray’s photograph of a D-type Jaguar below, as this year’s “Best of the Best” winner. Dennis will receive a commemortive plaque and a cash prize, along with our hearty congratulations.
