Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2016 – Auction Results

The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2016 auction was held January 23-31 at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona, resulting in more than $102 million in gross sales and a 99 percent sell-through rate. A total of 1,469 vehicles sold during this year’s Arizona Auction Week sale, the company’s 45th annual Scottsdale event that was attended by approximately 350,000 people. Over 1,400 pieces of automobilia sold for nearly $3 million, bringing the total sales to over $105 million.

The top result at the 45th Anniversary Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale sale went to the trio of ‘Serial One’ Corvettes, a 1955 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, 1956 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible and 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, all ‘Serial One’ from their respective years, that sold together for $1,815,000.

Other notable results included the Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach (Lot #1392) that brought a record $1,760,000, the 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am “Smokey and the Bandit” Promo Car (Lot #7004) that made a record $550,000 and the 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition (Lot #1370) that commanded $522,500.

Once again, charitable giving was a significant part of the auction action as 11 vehicles crossed the Scottsdale block, including the 2017 Acura NSX VIN #001. They cumulatively raised $3,406,000 to benefit local and national non-profit organizations.

1. 2017 Acura NSX VIN #001 (Lot #3007) donated by Acura to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground – $1.2 million
2. 2016 Ford Focus RS (Lot #3009) donated by Ford for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – $550,000 (Additional $10,000 donated by Michelle Mauzy).
3. 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS VIN #001 (Lot #3008) donated by GM to benefit Kettering University – $500,000
4. Chevrolet Camaro COPO GEN 6 VIN #001 (Lot #3005) donated by GM to benefit United Way – $300,000
5. 2000 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Truck (Lot #3006) donated by Ford to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – $200,000
6. 2012 Dodge Charger NASCAR Racecar (Lot #3002) to benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America – $150,000 (Additional $10,000 donated by the Damon family).
7. 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Military Tribute (Lot #3004) to benefit the Stephen Siller Foundation – $125,000
8. 1932 Ford Hi-Boy (Lot #3010) to benefit the Alex Xydias Center for Automotive Arts – $105,000
9. 2008 Mckinney Top Fuel Dragster (Lot #3000) to benefit B.R.A.K.E.S. Foundation – $100,000
10. 2015 JEEP Wrangler Custom (Lot #3001) to benefit CHILDHELP through SEMA Cares – $81,000
11. 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 (Lot #3003) to benefit The Barrett-Jackson Cancer Fund At TGen In Memory of Russ and Brian Jackson – $75,000

Barrett-Jackson has raised over $88 million for local and national charities to date.

    Were any of Jack A. Griffith sportscars available? Either Griffith 200’s or the rare Cobra eating Series 400 of which only 58 were made for the whole world (1963-67)?

      An alphabetical sort of the five main Scottsdale auctions goes directly from Goggomobil to Harley-Davidson. No Griffiths or even TVRs.
