Historic Sportscar Racing is preparing for a pair of upcoming events, the Atlanta Fall Historics, set for September 15-18 at Road Atlanta (above), and the Savannah Speed Classic, scheduled for October 27-30 on Georgia’s historic Hutchinson Island.
The Road Atlanta event, in addition to HSR’s usual classes, features the Classic RS Cup, a throwback to the Porsche IROC Series and the Global GT, with a group dedicated to those cars just retired from the pro circuit. Also taking part this year for the first time will be the new SCCA Formula Lites and Formula 4 series.
As part of the weeklong Hilton Head Motoring Festival, the Savannah Speed Classic returns wheel-to-wheel racing to its roots in Savannah, home of the Grand Prize of America a century ago. Featuring series races and enduros as well as car corrals, hot-lap rides and pit access, the Savannah Speed Classic is a family-friendly event in a park-like setting.
