The 2008 Alfa Romeo Owners Club Convention will be held Wednesday, June 18th – Sunday, June 22nd in Oak Brook, Illinois, outside Chicago. Registration for this year’s event, hosted by the Chicago Alfa Romeo Owner’s Club, is underway, with early bird registration ending May 17th.
While the convention doesn’t officially begin until Wednesday, there is a pre-convention “FANGIO” tour Sunday – Tuesday. The official schedule of events:
Wednesday, June 18, 2008
- Registration opens Wednesday morning
- AROC Board of Directors Meeting – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Tech for track day participants in the parking lot – 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM
- Welcome reception – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Thursday, June 19, 2008
- Illinois River Valley driving tour – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM approx.
- Track event at Autobahn Country Club – 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Touring at Autobahn track – lunchtime
Friday, June 20, 2008
- Autocross at the Odeum convention center – 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM
- Bus trip to downtown Chicago – 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM
- Tech sessions (details TBA) – 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM
- Jewelry “tech session” – time TBA
- Skyline Cruise on Lake Michigan – 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM. You must be 21 years of age to attend.
Saturday, June 21, 2008

- Gimmick Rallye – 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
