Historic Formula Atlantic cars will once again be racing on the streets of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.
After a very successful inaugural event at Trois-Rivieres in 2004, the Historic Formula Atlantic group has been invited back to take part in the 36th running of Le Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres. The event will take place August 5–7.
Last year’s event saw Bill Brack and his Lotus 59/69 race against two ex–Gilles Villeneuve cars, as well as an ex–Bobby Rahal-owned Lola. The event was won by Duncan Dayton driving the Rahal Lola, in a very exciting race between Dayton and 1984 Formula Atlantic Champion Dan Marvin, driving the ex–Villeneuve, Direct Film-liveried 1976 March 76B to the checkered flag.
Bill Brack will once again be racing at Trois-Rivieres in his STP-liveried Lotus 59/69, the car that he won the 1974 Formula Atlantic Championship with, when the Historic Formula Atlantic cars take to the streets of Trois-Rivieres.
The Historic Formula Atlantic race is open to all Formula Atlantic cars, from 1974 through 1988, powered by 1600-cc Ford Cosworth BDA engines. For travel and accommodation information, please visit the official Web site of the event—www.gp3r.com.
