Following in the tracks of its Euro F2 Classic, introduced in 2017, and the takeover of Group C Racing in 2016, Peter Auto is continuing to enlarge and develop its offerings in historic racing by introducing the 2.0L Cup in 2018.
This single-make grid will be reserved for two-liter, short-chassis early Porsche 911s prepared in accordance with FIA pre-’66 regulations. The 2.0L Cup will be part of three Peter Auto meetings in 2018: the Spa Classic (May 18-20); the Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or (June 8-10); and the Dix Mille Tours (August 31-September 2). At these events, 2.0L Cup drivers will have a 30-minute free practice session, 30-minutes of qualifying and a 1 hour and 30 minute race.
The 2.0L Cup has been created in association with Britons Lee Maxted-Page (Porsche Classic & Racing specialist) and James Turner (Director of the 2L Racing Group). It is expected to attract approximately 40 cars, with the expectation that well-known former Porsche drivers may turn up behind the wheel for some of the races. Following the two rounds held next year in France and the one in Belgium, the organizers are targeting an event in Great Britain for 2019. Ultimately, our aim is to organize of a round of The 2.0L Cup in England.”
