The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2011 took place May 20-22 on the grounds of the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este and Villa Erba on Lake Como in Cernobbio, Italy. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Como, the 2011 Villa d’Este Concours presented the chance to not only admire about 50 historic cars, but also take in the myriad of sights off the show field.
The 2011 event saw the 1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale of Clive Joy win Best of Show by Judges, while Corrado Lopresto’s 1942 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS was awarded Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este, the Best of Show by Public Referendum.
In addition to our Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2011 photo gallery, we also offer the following selection of images from Tim Scott. These “Behind the Scenes” pictures give readers a more complete understanding of the little details, intangibles and Lake Como beauty that make Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este one of the premier events in the world.

What a treat to browse these marvelous photographs so casual in mood and lovely in subject and composition. Thanks to Tim Scott for being there with his camera, and to Jamie Doyle for running these images on Sports Car Digest.
All in all, I think I’m more comfortable with the crowd at my local dirt track on Friday night.
Some things are universal, though. The women in the parking garage, standing by while their car is swarmed by mechanics, seem to be saying, “Honey, why don’t you just buy a new car?!”
Well said David! Women are a universal influence, no matter the environment or cars.
@ David
i know you are reffering to the Siata shot, and trust me, that is not what she was saying, i took that car out that morning, it was actually the first time the owner drove it since it came out of a 4 year restoration and she wasn’t running well all of a sudden and they couldn’t find the problem, she was worried they couldn’t participate the next day
and if she says “buy a new car” then her choice would be a ’50s racer instead of a ’50s GT car that her husband preffers 😉
Simply,
Thank you.
This will take care of my weekend!
First to view, and then to share.
