Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will celebrate its 60th anniversary next year with the 44th running of the track’s annual vintage racecar festival, known as the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, highlighting the season’s schedule on the weekend of August 17-20.
Since its construction in 1957 as a replacement for the Pebble Beach Road Races, the track has hosted most of the major American auto and motorcycle racing championships, as well as World Championship motorcycle racing, with much cherished history being written at the undulating 2.238-mile dry lake circuit.
The major event schedule for 2017 kicks off on the weekend of May 12-13 with an “exotic sports car event” for which details will be released in the future, then fills the July 7-9 weekend with the GEICO MotoAmerica round of the Motul FIM World Superbike Championship. August brings another Monterey Classic Car Week, with the annual Pre-Reunion set for August 12-13, and the following weekend, August 17-20, featuring the aforementioned Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The season closes with the return of the Pirelli World Challenge/International GT Challenge finale on October 12-15. For complete information, please visit www.MazdaRaceway.com
