1967 Ferrari 365 GTC Speciale sold for $885,000

The Bonhams Scottsdale Auction 2013 was staged Thursday, January 17th at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, resulting in $13.4 million in total sales and 82% of all cars sold. Bidders and registrants from 28 countries participated in the second annual Bonhams Arizona auction.
Top result at the Bonhams Scottsdale 2013 auction went to the 1938 Mercedes-Benz 540K Cabriolet A that sold post-block for $1,312,500, followed by the 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV from the Oldenburg Collection that went to a private European collector for $1,215,000, the 1930 Bugatti Type 46 Faux Cabriolet sold to an US collector for $951,000 and the 1968 Ferrari 330 GTS Spider that brought $912,500.
After a long bidding battle between two American enthusiasts, the 1967 Ferrari 365 GTC Speciale, originally commissioned by Pirelli Tire president Leopoldo Pirelli, made a world record at $885,000, while the London Motor Show 1964 Morgan 4 Coupe also made a world record for the model when it sold for $230,000.

We achieved prices at this auction that created new benchmark figures and offered advice to our clients that proved to be wholly founded. Bonhams offered 112 automobiles for sale, with 92 finding a new owner, reflecting an 82% sales rate. Total sales volume was $13,455,950, inclusive of buyer’s premiums. The average price per car sold was $146,260.
