Recently I bought a new car, and as is so often the case, a female in my life dictated my choice. In this case it was Miriam Beatrice Rose (7lb 14oz), my first grandchild.
To service the latest expression of my genes I needed a practical car. When you and I go out for the day, we can grab a sandwich, but a baby is a military operation. I, no longer a boring old fart, but a Silver Singleton, bought a Ford Focus. It is not even a performance version though it is hotter than the XR3i I had in 1986 when there weren’t all the CCTV cameras, so the XR3i was actually faster, more often.
