Jack Turner began building his own racing special in 1951 and early successes with the car quickly led to a series of commissions for friends. As demand grew, Turner converted a blacksmithing operation in Wolverhampton, England, into a small shop dedicated to the production of small displacement sports cars. From 1954 until 1966, Turner produced nearly 700 cars, many of which led distinguished racing careers. Turner-built cars raced in F2, F3 and a wide variety of sports car competitions, garnering many British and SCCA wins and championships.
Some of the many impressive aspects of this month’s site include: a detailed breakdown of all Turner models and specifications; a well-=written history of Jack Turner and the Turner Car Company; an extensive collection of sales literature and magazine articles; technical information; parts resources; and quite impressively, an extensive registry with photos and histories for hundreds of known or surviving Turners.
