Top 10 Most Popular Stories of 2009

Sports Car Digest published 510 stories in 2009, ranging from auction results, car profiles, event and vintage racing coverage, yet several resonated more than others with our readers. Based upon visitors to each story, the Mario Righini Collection Photo Gallery was our most popular story in 2009, followed by the Porsche 917 Photo Gallery by Louis Galanos and coverage of the Goodwood Revival.

Interestingly, the stories ranked 9th and 10th were breaking news items about high-profile auction consignments, Mecum’s 1964 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe and RM’s 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. The Shelby finished ahead of the Ferrari in terms of site visitors, although the Ferrari prevailed on the auction block, selling for a record $12,402,500 versus a mere $7,685,000 for the Shelby.
