For the filming of McQueen’s “Le Mans”, 908/2 was entered in the 1970 24-Hour race, with a specially mounted nose camera, to be driven by Jonathon Williams and Herbert Linge. Despite being focused on filming, and having to make numerous stops to change the film in the camera, the duo would go on to finish in the equivalent of 9th place overall, on laps.
Artist Fernando Hoyos pays tribute to this unique Porsche here in watercolor, tempera, ink and pencil.
