Russia will host the fourth edition of Uniques Special Ones, scheduled for 30 August to 1 September 2013 in Saint Petersburg. This is the first event outside of Italy for the Concours event designed by the MAC Group.
“Uniques was designed with the aim to be realised worldwide, within surroundings of great prestige able to recreate the atmosphere typical of the ‘Uniques concept’. I am thus extremely proud to announce the first uniques special ones event abroad,” said Sandro Binelli, Chairman of the MAC Group and of Uniques.
“Russia was strategically chosen to export our event to a market that in the recent economic trends has been standing out for its constant economic growth and for an increasing focus on luxury and exclusivity. We must not forget that it will be the first international car Concours ever realised in St. Petersburg and targeted to the cosmopolitan audience distinctive of our project,” continued Binelli.
Florence, Italy, the city that for the last three years has played host to Uniques Special Ones now passes the baton to St. Petersburg, which, like Florence, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a striking city with its famous historic centre and monuments.
The 2013 Uniques Special Ones ‘Treasure Cars’ will be exhibited throughout the surroundings of Kirov Park on Yelagin Island, an island in the Neva River delta and home to the imposing Yelagin Palace. Considered by many as one of the most charming remnants of 18th Century Russia, the palace is surrounded by a park, and the reflection of the Yelagin Palace in the river offers a strong panorama.
The gala dinners, reserved for entrants and a selection of guests only, will also be held in settings such as the Yusupov Palace, the house and museum renowned for its hodgepodge of architectural styles. The State Hermitage Museum, a collection of over three million works of cultural art and artifacts from around the world, is another highlighted destination.
The format of the Concours will remain unchanged; the format for judging will also be the same, with two panels of eminent judges (a “Technical Jury” and a “Style Jury”).
Entry for the Uniques Special Ones International Concours is now open for any classic or modern car that falls under at least one of the following categories:

  • One-off models
  • Remaining cars from extremely limited productions
  • Prototypes
  • Concept and show cars
  • Limited production models (20 or less units built or remaining)
  • Famous cars (cars famous for their participation in important historical events, cars with famous owners, press cars, team racing cars, works racing cars, cars that have appeared in films or TV series, and cars with the first or last chassis number and/or the earliest surviving or most recently built example remaining of a particular model)
