This coming Sunday, August 27, marks the first day of the 9th Annual Put-In-Bay Road Race Reunion, with the arrival of participating cars on the island. Racetrack activities begin Monday morning, and one of the highlights every year is the “Fly Over” on Tuesday during the opening ceremonies, when the B-25 “Georgie Girl” will have an appropriate escort. The Fly Overs at Put In Bay are always spectacular thanks to the 3W2 Pilot’s Association. The rest of the event will unfold according to the following schedule.
Monday August 28
8 a.m. – Drivers “School” – Mandatory for Exhibition Drivers, encouraged for others
9 a.m. – Mandatory Drivers Meeting
10 a.m. – Practice Sessions for Racing and Exhibition cars
12:30 p.m. – Lunch Break (one hour)
1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. – Qualifying Sessions for Racing and Exhibition cars
4 p.m. – Charity Rides
Tuesday August 29
9 a.m. – Drivers Meeting
10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Qualifying Races, All Groups
12:30 p.m. – Lunch Break (one hour)
1:00 p.m. – Opening Ceremonies and Flyover
1:30 – 4 p.m. – Feature Races (all groups)
4 p.m. – Put-In-Bay Invitational Cup Race – “King of the Rock”
Wednesday August 30
9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – Car Show in Dairy Isle Lot (Bayview and Temple)
