Russo and Steele’s 4th Annual Newport Beach Collector Car Auction, scheduled for June 10-12 at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, will be headlined by a matching numbers 1979 Porsche 911 Turbo (above), from Porsche’s “Signature Series” that is among the final 50 examples of this iconic car produced for the American market.
Boasting a special-order, one of one, “Paint to Sample” color of Pearl Yellow-Gold, this exquisitely restored machine also features a number of factory options such as a limited-slip differential, electric passenger-side rear-view mirror, a sunroof and Pirelli tires, and includes comprehensive documentation dating from the original day of purchase.
Among the many other cars scheduled to cross the block in Newport Beach is a one-owner 2006 Ford GT, a black-on-black car that has been driven only in good weather and clearly benefits from proper storage and maintenance by an enthusiastic, non-smoking owner. Also scheduled is a 1927 Locomobile 90 Tourer, a three-owner vehicle originally special-ordered by racing driver Cliff Durant, son of William Durant of GM fame, that features dual-cowl “Sportif” bodywork. It is unrestored in its original Forest Green with black fenders, but has benefitted from climate-controlled storage. These are but three of the desirable vehicles set to be sold in Newport Beach, and for complete information please visit www.russoandsteele.com
