The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2011 was held Sunday, August 21st at the Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California. More than 200 cars and motorcycles lined the 18th hole of the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links for the 61st annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, with a total of 29 classes in 2011 including feature and special classes.
Mercedes-Benz, a featured marque at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, had the largest overall presence on the show field, but the crowds were most captivated by the stunning display of the more than 20 Ferrari 250 GTO entrants. In addition to honoring the 125th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz and the 50th anniversary of the GTO, the event also celebrated the Stutz Centennial, Edwardian Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts and Italian Motorcycles.
Best of Show at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance was awarded to the 1934 Voisin C-25 Aerodyne of Peter Mullin of Los Angeles. The unique Voisin features a 3-liter sleeve-valve type motor with two carburetors developing 100 hp, resulting in a top speed of over 85 mph. The other cars nominated for Best of Show were a 1938 Talbot-Lago T150-C owned by Richard Stephens from Auburn, California, and a 1929 Bentley Speed Six owned by Daniel Sielecki from Capital, Argentina.

Was unable to make this year’s event, but it sure feels like I was there. Only I know that I did miss the GTO feature and that does sting. This helps however…many thanks.
