This year’s Goodwood Revival, set for September 12-14, will celebrate the 60th anniversary of arguably Britain’s most iconic sports car, the Jaguar D-Type, with a special race for examples of the legendary machine. As many as 30 D-Types, invited from around the globe, will take part in the Lavant Cup contest, set for the Saturday of the Revival. Included will be both standard examples and the later “long-nose” specials. Also expected are variants of the XKSS, and the experimental E2A that bridged the “gap” between the D-Type and the subsequent E-Type.

Paul Tracy, Scott Maxwell, Diana Carter, John Magill and Norris McDonald are being inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame in Toronto. Tracy, winner of 31 Indycar races and the 2003 U.S. National Champion, Maxwell, a long-time front runner in IMSA, Grand-Am, ALMS and World Challenge competition, Carter, Canada’s top female race and rally driver in the ’60s, Magill, longtime competitor and official who championed Karting in Canada, and McDonald, former Toronto Star motorsports columnist and editor, will be enshrined this September 27 at the Hall’s 20th annual ceremonies at Glen Gould Studio, presented by Canadian Tire.
