The Graham Hill Trophy at the 2016 Goodwood Members Meeting was held March 19-20 at the 2.4-mile Goodwood Motor Circuit in England. The race for closed-cockpit Grand Touring cars from the golden era of 1960 to 1966 was named in honor of the great Graham Hill.
There was no shortage of headline cars in the Graham Hill Trophy entry list, with icons like AC Cobras, Jaguar E-Types in ‘Lowdrag’ and ‘Semi-lightweight’ forms, Shelby Daytonas and more. Home-grown cars to cheer on included the likes of Lotus Elans, TVR Griffiths and a single Ginetta G10 driven by David Brabham.
A headline race of the 2016 Goodwood Members’ Meeting weekend, the Graham Hill Trophy saw James Cottingham’s Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe finish a mere 0.504 seconds ahead of a similar Shelby driven by Andrew Smith. The AC Cobras of Rob Hall and David Hart, respectively, were followed on the leader board by the Jaguar E-Type of Gary Pearson.
