The Cartier Style et Luxe Concours d’Elegance at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed was held 25-28 June on the lawns of Goodwood House in West Sussex, England. The 21st annual event was highlighted by five Figoni et Falaschi-bodied cars of the 1920s and ’30s brought over for Festival of Speed from the Peter Mullin Automotive Museum in California.
Best of Show at the 2015 Goodwood Cartier Style et Luxe Concours d’Elegance was awarded to Mullin’s 1937 Talbot-Lago T150 C SS ‘Goutte d’Eau’, otherwise known as the Talbot Teardrop.
Popular with Hollywood stars of the era, only 14 of these special Figoni et Falaschi-bodied cars were ever made. The Cartier Style et Luxe-winning example was originally owned by Bentley Boy Woolf Barnato and raced at Le Mans in period before being shipped to the United States in the 1960s.
Peter Mullin said, “For me it is the most gorgeous car ever designed; a perfect organic shape with not a bad angle anywhere.”
The judging panel included Ferrari design chief Flavio Manzoni, TV presenter Jodie Kidd and Queen drummer Roger Taylor plus other notable names from the world of sport, the arts and design. Class winners included the 1965 Ferrari 500 Superfast in ‘Coachbuilt Ferrari’, the 1931 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 MM in ‘Sporting Advantage’ and the 1991 Jaguar XJ220 Prototype in ‘200 MPH Club’.

Wow! Great photos of some fabulous cars. I just love the work of Figoni et Falaschi and there are several great examples here, although only 1 is actually credited.
