1959 OSCA | 1960 Lotus 18 | 1963 Brabham BT6
Regular readers of VR will know that we have a fondness for Formula Junior. We have covered some important ground with this significant racing formula, and gotten to grips with Elva, Lotus, Stanguellini, Volpini, Autosud and more. As 2008 marks 50 years of the racing category thought up by Count Giovanni ‘Johnny’ Lurani as a less expensive entree into single-seater competition, we set out to test some cars that covered the span of that formula–1958 to 1963. We came up with not only three representative cars, but cars which were each fascinating in their own right. And the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit made its contribution by providing a nice damp day on which to test them!
