The Corvette SR2 competition car was created by the design team of GM styling boss Harley Earl, and made for Earl’s son to race. It had 230 horsepower, and was raced through 1956 and 1957 with some sucess. Only three SR2s were ever made, and Corvette guru Zora Arkus-Duntov took his SR2 to Daytona Beach for some speed record attempts.
