The Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada (VARAC) has announced that the 2014 running of the Canadian Historic Grand Prix will take place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park—aka Mosport—on the weekend of June 13-15. The CHGP is the largest and most popular event of its kind in Canada, and one of the most prestigious vintage racecar events in North America.
The 2014 renewal will feature three full days of racing for six groups of cars: single-seaters; small and large bore (under and over 1800-cc) vintage and historic cars; wings and slicks (winged racers on slick tires); G70+ Cars (dating from 1973 to 1989, including all kinds of Alfa Romeos, Corvettes, Porsches, Mustangs and more); as well as the featured Canadian-American Showdown for Triumphs and MGs.
Other events available on the weekend will include a Friday evening Checkered Flag Cruise, a Saturday Road Rally/Tour through the local countryside, Track Touring sessions, a Legends of Motorsports Reunion, a “Legends of the Autobahn” concours conducted by the Mercedes-Benz Club of America, Mini Meet North, and a “Field of Dreams” car show, as well as various guest speakers and car club exhibits.
