Mecum Auctions is set to return to the Kentucky Exposition Center this weekend, September 21-23, for Mecum Louisville 2017 with an estimated 700 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, Hot Rods, Resto Mods and more to cross the auction.
Last year’s inaugural Mecum Louisville auction was a success with a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 Convertible taking top honors at $280,000, followed by a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback hammering sold for $255,000.
Leading featured consignments for Mecum Louisville 2017 is a Sunfire Yellow 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, a two-time NCRS Top Flight winner with its original L68 Tri-Power-equipped big-block engine, original M21 Muncie 4-speed transmission and original tank sticker, trim and VIN tag. Other featured consignments include a 1969 Dodge Super Bee powered by a date-code-correct 440 Six Pack engine with a believed-original 48,135 miles, and an Acapulco Blue 1969 Shelby GT500 Fastback (above, Jeremy Cliff photo courtesy of Mecum Auctions) with a 428 cubic-inch Ram Air Cobra Jet V8, which is documented with two build sheets, a copy of the Shelby window sticker and a Marti Report.
Doors open daily at 8 a.m., with the vehicle auction beginning at noon on Thursday, September 21, and at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, September 22-23.
