The 2009 Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance was held Sunday, August 2nd on the grounds of Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester, Michigan.
The 30th annual Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance featured more than 230 cars and motorcycles, including over 80 cars representing “The Best of Detroit,” plus Italian specialties like the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, Fiat 8V Supersonic, Dino 206 Competizione and Ferrari P3/4. In addition, the Mode du Concours presented ‘Sirens of Chrome’ models dressed in period auto show costumes.
“Best of Show” honors were bestowed upon a 1934 Packard V-12 Sport Sedan by Dietrich (American) owned by Ray Scherr of California and a 1939 Delahaye 165 Cabriolet by Figoni et Falaschi (Foreign) from the Peter Mullin Foundation of California. Mullin’s Delahaye also won the “People’s Choice” award.
Photographer Nathan Leach-Proffer documented this year’s Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance with a superb picture gallery of the cars on and around the Meadow Brook Hall grounds. It’s a 1941 Lincoln-Zephyr in Darin Blue!
… and two photos up from it is a 1937 Lincoln-Zephyr coupe.

I was the campus photographer for the university, when the Concours was first started and it struggled along… It is nice to see it finally made it to the status it has today…
So many of the locations where the cars are photographed bring back many memories…
