Mid America Motorworks will host its 15th annual Air-Cooled VW Magical Mystery Funfest, May 31-June 2, in Effingham, Illinois. An international-caliber event focusing on classic Volkswagen’s, Funfest regularly attracts more than 8,000 owners and enthusiasts from around the world.
This year “art cars,” elaborately painted VWs harking back to the groovy late ’60s and early ’70s, will get special treatment at the Magical Mystery Funfest, enjoying their own special corral, plus other recognition. Other facets of the event include expert seminars, special displays, scavenger hunts and swap meets, as well as judging for the “Celebrity Choice” award for standout VWs each day.
