RM Auctions, the official auction house of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, continued its run of fantastic 2013 results, on March 9, with a highly successful Amelia Island, Florida, sale where records tumbled and more than $26.8 million was grossed with over 92 percent of all lots sold.
Celebrating its 15th year in 2013, RM’s sale saw an incredible roster of more than 85 blue-chip automobiles presented before a truly international audience of bidders. The sale’s “star car,” the beautiful 1935 Duesenberg Model SJ Walker-LaGrande Convertible Coupe, one of only three produced and the only supercharged example, attracted immense interest, eventually selling for $4,510,000, firmly establishing itself as the top seller of the day and this year’s Amelia Island weekend.
