2010 Amelia Island Concours de Sport Best in Class Winners
The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance is well known for its penchant for sports and racing cars. Led by founder Bill Warner, who raced “in the day” and vintage races today, the Amelia Concours goes out of its way to include a wide variety of sports and racing cars.
Further reinforcing the sports and racing partiality, Amelia was the first Concours to establish two Best in Show awards: Concours d’Elegance and Concours de Sport, which recognize the top traditional vehicle and top sports/racing vehicle, respectively.
The 2010 Amelia Island Concours “Best of Show” Concours d’Elegance was won by the 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster and Concours de Sport was won by the 1960 Maserati Tipo 61 “Birdcage.” (See 2010 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance Best of Show Winners).
We have divided the classes into “Elegance” and “Sports & Racing” to better highlight the Best in Class winners. “Sports and Racing” class winners are listed below and “Elegance” winners are in a separate story. (See 2010 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance Best in Class Winners).

Amazing line-up of cars. Other than Amelia, where else can you see the ex-Richard Petty Ford Torino Cobra, OSCA MT4-1500 and Ferrari Dino 196 SP on the same show field? Marvelous!
