Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance 2012 Information

A historic motoring event will be staged at famed Windsor Castle to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. With full permission of Her Majesty The Queen, the inaugural Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance will take place within the inner courtyard inside the walls of Windsor Castle from September 7-9, 2012.

Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance Creative Director, Jeremy Jackson Sytner at Thorough Events, commented, “The Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance is a significant new event celebrating the style and glamour of historical automobiles, the like of which this country has never seen. The event will also be a fitting testimonial to the craftsmanship of the UK classic car restoration industry of which the UK is a leading player.”

“Taking place in this highly prestigious location, the event is being established as a major charity fund-raising initiative,” said Sytner.

The Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance aims to bring together some of the rarest and most outstanding classic motorcars from around the world. A selection committee of world-renowned specialists and collectors will be brought together to ensure that only the best cars are invited to participate, some never before seen in Great Britain. In addition to the main Concours, the event also plans to include displays of rare horse-drawn carriages and classic Royal cars.

Friday, September 7, 2012 will be a designated invitation-only ‘Owners Day’ culminating in Evensong in St George’s Chapel and a Gala Dinner in the magnificent St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle that evening.

The Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance will be open to the public on Saturday, September 8, 2012 and Sunday, September 9, 2012. The event will run as a not-for-profit enterprise with all profits going to charity.
