I assume “September 6-9 – U.S. Vintage Grand Prix with SVRA” is Watkins Glen?
Hi Martin – Yes indeed, you’re correct. We’ve updated the schedule to make that more clear.
Fantastic! I planned to be there just for the road race through town but now ….
g’day from Aus. looks like you’re well into the New Zealand F5000 stuff , and rightly so ! I believe a lot of Aust. F5ooo’s went to N.Z. after the group lost support here ! But , I have had the great pleasure of being at Phillip Isl. Victoria…. AUSTRALIA for the last 5 years, and on at least two occasions I have had the greatest of VIBES of more than 20 of these BEASTS on the track at one time ! In fact…28 in one race ! They even came out to play in the RAIN!
Believe they are coming out again in March this year , 2012. I’m booked to be there !
I close by saying that I love historic motor racing , just about any type , particularly our Aussie tin tops ! BUT and I mean BUT ! I have never heard anything like a swarm of F5000’s on song and going for it ! See you at Phillip Isl.
cheers from Sth. Aust.
Rob
Thanks Rob for the further encouragement – not that I needed it! I definitely will take my 1999 Mustnag down the 3 hour drive to Watkins Glen to see the beasts. I too like historic stuff having been to Goodwood 4 or 5 times and hope to be at Historic Le Mans this year.
PS lived in Aus 1992 – 94 helping Optus getting launched.
Yahoo! F5000 at the Glen.. My favorite cars, at my favorite track, on my favorite weekend! Vintage weekend at Watkins Glen is the best weekend of the year, now it’s even better! Watkins Glen was made for these type of cars! Great news! I love F5000!
I’m showing my age. I remember the Jorgensen Eagle at Road America in 1975. Vern Schuppan I think.
