The 2016 RM Sotheby’s Paris will be held 3rd February at Place Vauban during the week of Salon Retromobile. A roster of approximately 60 automobiles are slated for RM’s 3rd annual Paris event.

Headline entries include the Porsche 550 Spyder, chassis 550-0068, that was featured at the 1955 Frankfurt Motor Show. Designed specifically with competition in mind, the 550 Spyder offered during the 2016 Retromobile Week boasts racing history in North America during the 1950s (Estimate: €2.800.000 – €3.500.000).

“Porsche 550 Spyders are extremely rare at auction, so it is a real delight to be able to offer this important Frankfurt show car at our Paris sale,” said Max Girardo, Managing Director, RM Sotheby’s Europe. “In addition to these latest entries, we are also excited to feature a selection of very affordable classic cars, ideal for anyone wishing to get involved with the hobby for the first time or for anyone looking for quality on a more limited budget. For those new to the hobby, our team of specialists will be on hand to guide participants through the auction process and assist with expert condition reports.”

Additional consignments for RM’s 2016 Paris sale include a 2004 Ferrari Enzo, chassis 135564. The Enzo is finished in Nero Daytona with red ‘Cartier’ upholstery and features a carbon wing and mirror, tinted windows, Enzo monograms, Alpine GPS and audio system, along with a reverse camera. With 2,500 km from new, it is currently going through Ferrari Classiche certification (Est. €1.500.000 – €2.000.000).

Another Ferrari supercar offered in Paris will be the 1989 Ferrari F40, chassis 80161, purchased by Stefano Casiraghi in Paris in 1989. Casiraghi was well-known for being the second husband of Princess Caroline of Monaco, and the F40 was common sight driving the car on the streets of Monaco at that time. The famous playboy and offshore powerboat racer was still married to Princess Caroline when he tragically lost his life defending his powerboat title in 1990. Presented in Ferrari Rosso, it boasts low mileage, having covered only 4,300 km from new, and features a full complement of tools and books (Est. €1.000.000 – €1.200.000).

“All Ferrari supercars are special, but these two early entries for our Paris sale each boast unique and highly desirable histories along with low, original mileage,” continued Girardo.

Other early entries for the 2016 RM Sotheby’s Paris include:

  • 1978 Ferrari 512 BB, chassis 23125 (Est. €400.000 – €450.000)
  • 1963 Ghia L6.4 Coupe, chassis 0313 (Est. €250.000 – €330.000)
  • 1955 Porsche 356 Pre-A Speedster, chassis 80389 (Est. €250,000 – €300,000)

  • 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, chassis 5500272, (Est. €1.200.000 – €1.600.000)
