The Bug

The 1934 Type 59 Bugatti has always epitomized the ultimate “golden era” sports car/racer to me. At home on the track or on a jaunt in the country, a pure-bred timeless classic of form and function. The example shown here is of a participant in the California Mille event this spring along the spectacular “Lost Coast” of Northern California near my home in Humboldt County, along the Wildcat Road between Petrolia and Ferndale.

Utilizing photography enhanced with digital image technologies, I strive in my work to evoke the primal sensuality of both the racer and the classic car…and the passion a true enthusiast feels for the thrill of speed and danger inherent in the unique blend of man and exotic machine.
