From 1958 to 1968, Meadowdale Raceway in Carpentersville, Illinois, played host to a wide variety of professional and amateur racing. From sports cars and motorcycles to stock cars and karts, virtually every form of motorized contraption took to the 3.27-mile course, which featured a 4000’ long straight and an 180-degree, banked turn affectionately known as the “Monza Wall.”
This month’s Web site is devoted to the history and memory of this long-lost racetrack. Features of the site include: a large selection of historic pictures and press clipings; a 100+ image tour around the track as it stands today; various track maps and aerial photos; a list of Meadowdale-related links, as well as information on the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs.
