A 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club is this year’s raffle car offered by the International Motor Racing Research Center, a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization. The annual car raffle is the Center’s major fundraiser, and has been taking place since 2000. In 2007 the prize was also an MX-5.
“We are extremely grateful to Mazda North American Operations for donating this super-popular car for our annual raffle,” Tom Weidemann, IMRRC executive director, said. “We’re going to make someone very happy with a new MX-5, which has been described as the ‘world’s favorite roadster.’ Especially happy knowing he or she gets to pick the color of the car. ”
The drawing of the winning ticket will be held on December 10 at 1 p.m. at the Center, located at 610 S. Decatur St., Watkins Glen. The winner need not be present to win. Tickets are $60 for one or $100 for two. Only 2,500 tickets will be sold, and they may be purchased by mailing a form available at the website www.racingarchives.org to 610 S. Decatur St., Watkins Glen, N.Y., 14891 or by calling the Center at (607) 535-9044. Online orders are not an option. The car is valued at $33,135, and the winner is responsible for paying all necessary taxes prior to delivery.
