Driving his unique Zerex Special, a converted Cooper Formula One car, Roger Penske was a force in sports car racing in the USA and England during the early 1960s. He’s seen here, with the by then John Mecom-owned car in its later two-seater configuration, winning at Brands Hatch in 1963. The car was soon sold to Bruce McLaren and ultimately became the very first McLaren sports racing car.
