The Targa Florio; Sicily, May 4, 1969. “VIVA L’ALFA” say the words painted on the road as the Alfa Romeo 33/2 of Nino Vaccarella and Andrea de Adamich roars past. They were the fastest of the Alfas and started first—due to Vaccarella being the local favorite—but Porsche swept the first four places.
