Bruce Meyer has done it all. The prominent automobile collector and arch enthusiast has participated in events all around the world with his enviable selection of cars. Yet, despite all of this, there was an item on his automotive bucket list that needed checking off.
As Meyer told Sports Car Digest, “I’m really a sports car guy for the past 50 years, but this year I bought a hot rod and took a detour to Bonneville.”
During the 2012 Bonneville Speed Week, Meyer brought a 1932 Roadster and his 200 mph dream to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah to make good on a life long desire to do something very few people have ever done. The following video documented Meyer’s attempt to break 200 mph in an open-top car.

V-e-r-y cool.
A trip to Bonneville during Speed Week is something I’ve wanted to do for years, although it won’t be with a 200mph roadster. More likely an 80mph compact rentacar. They have a class for everything else, I wonder if there’s one for rentacars?
Bucket List for sure…
Rick, new class in 2013 – Section 5.F.5 (follows Diesel Truck) RC/RC = Rick Carey’s Rental Cars class!
Pete – you may be onto a great story idea…
I want to go! I don’t know anything about engines though. I have a 89 Camaro I want to build like the 474. My dream is to go to Bonneville someday like Burt Munro and go 200 MPH
The 757 Camaro is what I was talking about. not 474. sorry about that. I also have a 57 Chrysler 300C I am restoring with the 392 HEMI engine. I want to bring it to Bonneville someday. it was my dads he bought it in 62.. He also had a 32 Ford roadster he drove to Muroc. he later changed it to a 3 window coupe.
