Interview: Bob Curl

Bob Curl is one of numerous British sports car constructors who dabbled in long distance racing for the sheer love of it in the late 1960s. At the time, long distance grids had numerous English specials and small production racers—Nomad, Daren and Dulon, just to name a few. But Bob Curl went onto bigger things, using his racing experience and design expertise in several areas, and more recently has been grappling with environmental vehicles for production, using his knowledge of making slippery and lightweight cars for nearly 40 years. Ed McDonough recently sat down with him in his Sussex workshop to discuss those early days and some of the many unique automotive projects that he has contributed to over the years.

VRJ: How did your career in racecar design and construction get started?
