As detailed in this month’s “Racecar Profile,” the Alvis Car & Engineering Company has a rich road and racing heritage that dates back to its founding by T.G. John in 1919. From the first 10/30 model in 1920, until the last TF 21 Graber DHC left the assembly line in 1968, the Alvis name has been a major part of the British automotive scene.
This month’s featured Web site is the official site of the Alvis Owner Club based in the UK. Some of the many features of this site include: a history of the Alvis Car Company; detailed histories on each pre- and postwar model; a price guide for current Alvis model valuations; a photo gallery; tips on restoring and maintaining an Alvis; an online store carrying numerous Alvis books and branded merchandise; links with connections to museums displaying Alvis cars; and a member’s section with additional exclusive features such as cars for sale, an events calendar and a bulletin board.
