The Earth is round. These days we say this with reasonable certainty (thanks in part to space travel) and considerably less caution than 500 years ago when it might have gotten our heads cut off. Strangely, all that planetary curvature has a big impact on everything we see. Even the straightest of lines is actually bending. Lines are being pulled from one end to another, in part due to the gravity on this planet, but more observationally as a function of perspective, our eyes, and the visual “tugging” from our curving horizon line.
Turns out, even our beautifully sculpted car bodies must also bow to the KING of all surfacing geometry—the curve. King indeed; as we shall see, it often wears a crown.
