The Masters Series, which encompasses the Grand Prix Masters Series, the Sportscar Masters Series, and the Gentleman Drivers Series, recently announced their choice of the Vintage Racecar Journal as their international media partner for both the 2006 and 2007 racing seasons.
According to Ron Maydon, president and founder of the Masters Series, “We have come to know and admire the way VRJ covers the world in which we work and play—international motorsport from the historic viewpoint. It is a worldwide sport, with strong ties between Europe and the USA, and to have our Masters activities properly covered and promoted in the U.S. market, and around the world, is vital to our growth and development. More and more U.S.-based and international car owners and collectors are coming over to race with the Masters Series, and this new tie-up with VRJ can only increase that flow. We feel that VRJ is growing through a great new phase, and look forward to working ever more closely with publisher Casey Annis and his team.”
Vintage Racecar Journal publisher and founder, Casey Annis remarked, “In a remarkably short period of time, Ron and his staff have built up the Masters Series to be the leading historic racing series in Europe. With the recent addition of the Gentleman Driver’s Series to their Formula One and World Sportscar Series, I can think of no other group that can produce full grids with this kind of quality and depth. We consider it a great honor to be chosen as their international media partner and look forward to helping them grow their base of participants and fans around the world.”
