I don’t have one favorite racecar; I have several: the Daytona Coupe I raced at Le Mans with Dan Gurney, the Ford GT40, the Ferrari P3, and, of course, the Ferrari Formula One.
The Daytona Coupe was a one-off and I loved racing it. They only built six and only for racing. It was my first time at Le Mans, my first time driving a Cobra Daytona Coupe, and my first time co-driving with Dan Gurney. In practice, we ran 197 mph on the straightaway and I was thinking, “This thing really hauls.” Dan and I won our class at Le Mans; we finished 1st in GT and 4th overall. That was 1964.
