Historic Grand Prix cars will race for the first time at Lime Rock Park on Memorial Day weekend as part of the Road Racing Classic.
Vintage McLaren, Ferrari, Wolf, Penske, Cooper, Brabham and Lotus Formula One cars will compete in two races organized by Historic Grand Prix, a group dedicated to the preservation and use of these great machines.
The sights and sounds of F1 cars tearing up the 1.5-mile Lime Rock Park will surely be a fan favorite of the Road Racing Classic.
Expected entrants include Duncan Dayton’s ex-Mario Andretti World Championship-winning John Player Lotus 79, Doug Mockett in his Penske and Bob Baker in his ex-Jack Brabham World Championship-winning Brabham, among many others. Baker reports that driving one of these fabulous pieces of history, “is a real privilege…albeit a demanding one…these cars are scary fast!”
The Road Racing Classic on Memorial Day Weekend will also feature the Koni Challenge and F2000. Event tickets and Premier Fan Hospitality tickets are on sale now. All tickets include free access to the paddock area and free parking. Discounted advance tickets are available until Friday, 15 May. Following that date, higher gate pricing will apply. Kids 12 and under are always free.
